Turning arbor

By Frederik Drost

A Turning arbor is a type of watch part that is used in manual-wind watches. It is a long, cylindrical metal rod with a square cross-section that is inserted into the winding stem of the watch. The Turning arbor is then used to wind the watch manually by turning it in a clockwise direction. This type of winding system is generally used in vintage and antique watches as it provides a more reliable and efficient way of winding the watch compared to a keywinding system.
