Trotteuse is a watch term which refers to a small, rotating hand on the face of a watch which is used to measure seconds. It is also known as a “sweep seconds hand” or “sweep second hand”. The Trotteuse hand rotates continuously in a full circle, taking 60 seconds to complete a rotation. It is typically the longest hand on the watch face and is usually painted bright red, making it easy to spot.
