Goshenite

By Frederik Drost

Goshenite is a type of transparent beryl gemstone found in a variety of colors, ranging from colorless to yellow, pink, green and blue. It is a hard and durable stone, rated 7.5 to 8 on the Mohs scale. It is named after the town of Goshen, Massachusetts, where it was discovered in the 19th century. Goshenite is often used in jewelry due to its brilliant luster, and is often found in necklaces, earrings, and pendants. It is also used to make watch faces, as it is known to be resistant to scratches and wear.
