In this review, I’ll be taking a closer look at a leather coat from FJackets, an online store specializing in leather jackets for men and women.
While my focus will be on the jacket itself, it’s worth mentioning that shipping was fast, and the jacket arrived in excellent condition—a promising sign for FJackets’ reliability.
The leather coat in question is a near 1:1 replica of the one worn by Bane, the villain in Christopher Nolan’s third Batman movie. And for anyone who’s seen it, we all know that jacket is just as bold and imposing as the character himself.
Jacket Design
Besides being the same jacket worn by Bane in The Dark Knight Rises, it follows a classic duffle coat design—but with a unique high-standing collar that mimics the one in the movie.
In my opinion, all the coolest characters in movies rock their collars up, and I tend to do the same whenever possible. It’s not just practical for blocking wind and keeping warm, but let’s be honest—it looks damn cool.
This jacket’s collar stays up perfectly without falling, adding to its rugged, workwear-inspired aesthetic. It exudes utility, warmth, and just the right amount of badass.
While black leather trench coats—like the ones in The Matrix—can sometimes feel over-the-top, this jacket strikes a more practical, quality-driven winter style, making it both comfortable and effortlessly stylish.
Leather Quality
Considering the price, the leather quality is actually quite good—especially for lambskin, which makes this jacket a great value for the money.

That said, there are a few things to note. The jacket arrives with a strong, somewhat unpleasant smell, which is common for leather coming straight from the factory. However, this fades after a few days if you leave it in a well-ventilated room with an open window and wear it regularly. After about five to six days, it develops that rich, classic leather scent. Given the price, I don’t see this as an issue.
The leather itself feels thick, but not overly so, which is expected for lambskin, as it’s naturally softer and lighter than other types of leather.
As for the faux shearling lining, it’s soft and comfortable, though an experienced eye can easily tell it’s synthetic—which isn’t surprising at this price point. While I would’ve preferred it to be a bit thicker, it still does the job well and adds to the jacket’s overall warmth.
Jacket Build & Quality

The jacket is well-constructed, featuring solid stitching and reinforced areas to protect against wear and tear where the leather pieces connect. The attention to detail is especially evident in the two external breast pockets, which have a thick, high-quality lining that enhances both durability and comfort.
Visually, the jacket looks and feels well-built, giving the impression that a skilled craftsman put it together with care. There are no visible flaws, and the overall construction holds up well, making it a reliable choice for anyone looking for a stylish yet sturdy leather coat.
Jacket functionality

The jacket is quite functional for winter, as it can be fully closed up to the neck, keeping you nice and warm. It also offers plenty of storage, with two large front pockets that can hold various items, along with two smaller breast pockets—ideal for credit cards or keys. Additionally, there are two internal pockets, though they’re a bit narrow for smaller objects but work well for sunglasses or phones in most cases.
In terms of warmth, the jacket isn’t as insulating as it looks, so I’d recommend layering in colder weather. Personally, I wear it with a black or white turtleneck sweater, which does the trick and complements the jacket’s rugged yet stylish aesthetic.
Sizing
When it comes to sizing, I’d recommend going a size up from what the measurements suggest. I based my choice on the same measurements I’ve used for other leather jackets, and while it fits perfectly when standing, the sleeves shorten slightly when sitting due to my broad shoulders.
While this might be acceptable for blazers or more structured jackets, this particular duffle coat looks much better with a slightly oversized fit—just like how it was worn by Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. A looser fit enhances its rugged, workwear aesthetic and improves overall comfort and mobility.
Conclusion
Overall, the lambskin leather duffle coat from FJackets is a solid choice for the price, offering impressive construction, good leather quality, and practical features. It’s more than just a stylish piece—it’s a functional winter jacket that provides decent warmth, ample storage, and a comfortable fit, making it a great value for anyone looking for both aesthetics and usability.
