Vibration Per Hour

By Frederik Drost

Vibration Per Hour (VPH) is a measure of how often a mechanical watch movement oscillates in a given hour. It is the number of oscillations divided by the number of hours. VPH is used to measure the accuracy of a watch movement and is often used to compare one watch movement to another. Higher VPH numbers indicate a more accurate watch movement, as it oscillates more often in the same amount of time.
