Regulating parts

By Frederik Drost

Regulating parts are components of a watch that control the accuracy and precision of the timepiece. These parts include the escapement, balance wheel, balance spring, and timing screws. The escapement is a mechanism that divides time into equal parts, allowing the watch to tick. The balance wheel is a weighted wheel that swings back and forth, keeping the time in a regulated rhythm. The balance spring counteracts the force of gravity, keeping the balance wheel in a constant position. Lastly, the timing screws are used to adjust the speed of the watch. Together, these parts ensure the accuracy of the watch, allowing it to keep precise time.
