Motion work

By Frederik Drost

Motion work is the system of gears, springs and other components that power a watch and enable it to keep time. It consists of the main components such as the mainspring, the escapement, the balance and the gear train, all of which work together to create the movement of the hands. The motion work is one of the most important parts of a watch and ensures its accuracy and reliability. The motion work is what makes a watch tick, literally!
