Chamfering

By Frederik Drost

Chamfering is a technique used to create a beveled edge on a watch component. It is used to remove any sharp edges from a piece of metal, usually around the edge of a case, bezel, or bracelet link. This is done to create a smoother, more aesthetically pleasing finish, as well as to reduce the risk of injury from sharp edges. Chamfering is an important part of the watchmaking process, as it adds to the overall quality of the piece.
