Bridge

By Frederik Drost

A watch bridge is an important part of the internal mechanism of a watch. It is a metal plate that is used to secure many of the smaller parts of a watch, such as the wheel train, mainspring barrel, and balance wheel, in place. It also helps to keep the movement of the watch stable and secure. Bridge designs vary based on the type of watch but typically consist of two parallel pieces of metal with a series of screws or pins that hold the parts in place. The bridge is usually engraved with the name of the watch company to help with identification.
