Flange

By Frederik Drost

A flange is a rim or edge that is used to join two objects together or to reinforce a connection. In watchmaking, a flange is typically found near the bezel of a watch and is used to secure the crystal and bezel to the watch case. The flange may have a series of notches or teeth that correspond with the crystal to secure it in place.
