Automatic Movement

By Frederik Drost

Automatic Movement is a type of watch movement that is powered by the wearer’s body motion. This type of movement eliminates the need to manually wind a watch and keeps the watch ticking without any user input. The movement is powered by a wound spring that is kept in motion by the natural arm and wrist movements of the wearer. Automatic movements are often more accurate and reliable than manual winding movements.
