Tourbillon Cage.

By Frederik Drost

A Tourbillon Cage is a device used in high-end watches to improve their accuracy. It consists of a rotating cage that houses the watch’s regulating organ, such as the balance wheel and escapement. This cage rotates at a slow, constant rate, which compensates for any positional errors the watch may have accumulated due to the effects of gravity. As a result, Tourbillon Cage watches are some of the most accurate timepieces available, and have become a mark of prestige among luxury watchmakers.
