Quartz oscillator

By Frederik Drost

A quartz oscillator is a tiny component used in many wristwatch and clock movements to regulate the timekeeping of the watch or clock. It uses a quartz crystal to generate a series of electric pulses at a very precise frequency. The frequency of these pulses determines the speed at which the watch or clock operates. Quartz oscillators are highly accurate and reliable, making them the preferred choice for timekeeping in many types of watches and clocks.
