Mainspring winder

By Frederik Drost

A mainspring winder is a tool used to tighten or loosen the mainspring of a mechanical watch. It is a small, cylindrical device with a knob at one end and a flat, square-shaped end at the other. The knob is used to wind the mainspring while the flat end is used to hold the mainspring in place. The mainspring winder is usually made of metal, such as steel, and is used to regulate the tension of the mainspring in order to keep the watch running accurately.
